Drifting Sands was founded out of a local software company's remnants that dissolved after the dot-com bust. The senior development team had a  very strong professional and successful working relationship so a new company was born.

EveryBase, AB in Årjäng, Sweden and Oslo, Norway was our first client. The goal was to setup development/QA teams, bring the software up to a professional level and get the company ready for acquisition. In less than 6 months it was a success. The company was sold and we were on to our next adventure.

The Engelhorn Foundation for Rare Diseases (EFFORD), of Luxemburg, was our next client. This was a multi-year, long term contract to develop an international research database of rare diseases. This was an international effort among hundreds of universities and research clinics to bring together and publish the symptoms, diagnoses, treatments and research in a central worldwide location in 10 languages.

During this effort we formed a partnership with Amulet-Software of the Netherlands and continue to work on various projects together.

One of our most interesting and successful projects to this day is our partnership with Signature Symphony Software, of Florida, to develop software designed by doctors for doctors. We have come together to create a suite of applications for the medical vertical. Symphony EMO is a software system for paperless sign in sheets, patient privacy, patient tracking, document workflow, scheduling and risk management. Core to our philosophy is making products that fit the medical office's existing procedures rather than forcing them to change their procedures to fit the product. Patient Access Manager (PAM) is our enterprise solutions for Hospitals and larger clinics. This is a re-architected version of Symphony EMO to enhance the patient sign-in, patient tracking and document workflow to fit the needs of larger clients.

With our suite of programs the client picks the software solution that fixes the problems they are experiencing. Once a solution is decided upon, setting up the program to match their existing procedures is quick, easy, and painless.
